The influence paper project has equipped me with various skills throughout the researching and writing process. A tool I already had but this project enhanced was time management. Time management was a major aspect of this long-term project as we had to pace ourselves in the mince of assignments for other classes as well. I will apply this tool to my future nursing practice by managing and prioritizing patient loads and nursing interventions. This project also showed my ability to research and interpret evidence-based practice. This is an essential skill as nurses utilize evidence-based practice in their daily practice. This project taught me how to create a PICOT question, find significant evidence to support it, and analyze the evidence. I discovered how important it is to be able to interpret the evidence in your own words, this shows the nurse truly understands and can implement the interventions safely. This project presents my ability to initiate evidence-based practice and improve patients care plans based on those findings.
