Course Description

“This course examines the connection of concepts explored in previous nursing coursework and experiential activities. The use of active inquiry and engagement strengthen the student’s development of clinical reasoning, professional nursing practice, and interprofessional relationships”

Course Objectives

1. Explore concepts of compassionate care and Watson’s Carative Factors in the planning and evaluation of care
for individuals, families, and communities. (EBP, CJ)
2. Explore the role of technology and information management in the efficacy of health care delivery. (Informatics)
3. Explore the role of the bedside nurse as the leader of the healthcare environment for individuals, families, and
communities. (Leadership)
4. Identify the characteristics of shared knowledge and resources for the contributions to an effective
interprofessional plan of care for diverse individuals, families, and communities. (Care
delivery/Interprofessionalism)
5. Identify the moral, ethical, and legal tenets inherent in the formation of professional nursing values.
