I have a tendency of skimming the questions at times when taking ATI assessments, my goal was to read the question thoroughly therefore I can choose the answer correctly. For outcomes, I noticed I stayed around the same area for ATI assessments this semester. I also had a goal of not changing my answers once I chose them and I did get better at that this semester with both ATI and class exams. Through taking ATI I was able to narrow down the content areas I needed to focus on. ATI showed me my strengths and weaknesses. I used what I did not know and went back into the book to brush up on some specific areas. I also used Lippincott advisor to research specific diagnosis and going over nursing interventions and patient education. ATI helped me fill in the gaps of areas I need to focus more on when studying. The last semester of nursing school was rigorous in the sense that our schedules were often full. It pushed me to find a work/life balance unlike any other semester. I learned the importance of taking care of yourself in order for everything else to fall into place. In past semesters I would often neglect my self-care time (eating properly, going outside, study for 8 hours at a time). I learned that neglecting myself was followed by neglecting other aspects of my life. I think I did a great job this semester balancing my schedule of school and life alone with taking care of myself. Throughout this semester I learned to adapt due to schedules, assignments, personal life, exams, etc. transitioning from nursing student to professional RN practice will be a huge adaptation I believe UNE has done a good job making us comfortable in uncomfortable situations such as SIM, VR, group work, etc. I will take what I learned throughout this semester and all my years at UNE to professional practice by keeping an open mind and being flexible. I will also take the ability to adapt at any moment in order to provide the best care to my patients.
