Proposing Change

Completing the literature review did not change my assumption about continuous glucose monitoring for diabetic patients. Before searching for articles, I believed that CGM can lower the risk of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. The research supported that CGM reduces the severity of hypo/hyperglycemia as interventions were implemented faster, thanks to the CGM. Our topic was looking into the general effect continuous glucose monitoring has on the control of glucose. We did not have to change our topic because we found literature analyzing the effect of CGM. What my group discovered about CGM opened my awareness to how continuous monitoring can prevent further complications. in my future nursing practice, I will emphasize focused assessments and trending to try and prevent further complications of my patient. My team and I were successful obtaining articles supporting our topic and glucose monitoring guideline policy from Maine medical center. My team did not face any barriers that effected completing our assignment. We did well work with each other’s schedules and obtaining evidence-based articles. There was a small challenge with splitting up work evenly, but we were able to work through it as a team.
