When researching about continuous glucose monitoring, I found myself shocked with how much it can cost a family to manage someone’s diabetes. Although our presentation was not super interactive the audience was engaged. I believe it comes as a shock to most people the burden of cost and obtaining supplies. Patients must bring all the supplies for CGM was a key finding from the Maine Medical center policy. Although they had to have all the supplies the hospital will provide the insulin if the patient runs out or does not have any. Like most chronic medical diagnosis, they are extremely expensive to maintain.
I learned that not everyone holds the same standard as I do when it comes to the quality of work. Setting goals for the assignment and reviewing work as a team is important. In my future nursing practice when collaborating with other nurses I will discuss the goals for the patient and the task at hand. When working as a team I would review the assignment and make modifications based on evidence and improving the understanding. As a team we would review the assignment discuss our ideas and split up the work equally. We then would discuss when we should have the assignment done by, giving us enough time to review it before submitting. I find myself taking lead when it comes to mentioning due dates and having things done. I like to ensure things are on time. I also like to review the assignment before submitting to ensure we included all aspects and that is quality work.
