A clinical exemplar is used to highlight the work of a nurse to other health care workers on the inter-professional team. My clinical exemplar displays a memorable time during one of my clinical experiences that affected me emotionally. It conveys a story that was an important part of forming me as a nursing student and one day a nurse. During this specific clinical situation I had to take a moment to recognize my feelings, adjust, and provide my patient with the best possible care. It was a moment as a nursing student when I realized the importance of emotional intelligence.
